Booking Essential and Required by 7th May at the latest. Limited to 12 persons.
This will be a walk around White Sheet Plantation and Holt Heath looking for such specialities of the lowland heathland and mires such as Hobby, Lapwing, Curlew, Woodlark, Tree Pipit, Stonechat, Dartford Warbler, Linnet and Yellowhammer. In addition you may see and/or hear Red Kite, Cuckoo, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Whitethroat, Spotted Flycatcher and Raven. You may also see some butterflies and dragonflies which are associated with heathland habitats.
Meet: in White Sheet Plantation car park accessed from the bend in the road at (SU048036, ///lives.hovered.sideboard). NB: from Colehill take the road to Broom Hill. At the cross roads continue straight ahead and at the obvious left hand bend, turn right onto the track to the car park.
Walking: generally easy on good footpaths.
Also: please bring binoculars if you have them. In addition midge repellent and a torch are recommended.
