In addition to the usual places that we go to, Trees for Wimborne have added a couple of work evenings on another site between Wimborne and Sturminster Marshall: this is an area of farmland on the Stour Valley Way where the farmer has planted a woodland on their less productive land. The tree guards that were used to protect the trees from the deer are now causing more damage than preventing it. The farmer has been kind enough over the last year to allow us to take the undamaged guards and cable ties, for our use. This has proved a saviour on Dogdean and other sites. It is a lovely place and now much in need of attention, of which we have and will benefit. As an added bonus some of us might, at the end of the evening, enjoy the beer garden at the Coventry Arms while heading back towards Wimborne.
If you are interested in coming to either, or both, of these particular evenings (28th May and 5th August), or would like further details, please email TreesforWimborne@gmail.com.
