Planet Wimborne and Wimborne War on Waste have teamed up with Wimborne Folk Festival to promote the 'Bring Your Own' message at this year's festival to cut plastic waste and litter. People coming to the festival over the weekend of 6th June are being encouraged to:
BYO festival cup. Many pubs are offering to fill your cup providing it is either crown or CE marked. Alternatively you can buy the Wimborne festival cup for £1 from participating pubs.
BYO water bottle. You can re-fill your bottle at many shops and cafes in the town.
BYO hot drink mug. Many cafes will accept these.
Dr Neil Smith, Planet Wimborne Director said, "We hope visitors to our beautiful town will do their bit by bringing their own cups, bottles and mugs to cut plastic waste and litter and save themselves some cash at the same time. Of course, Bring Your Own is not just for the folk festival and we hope people will get into the habit all year round."
