We are winning on waste - Save your waste and help good causes!
If you’re wondering what to do with empty biros, spent toothpaste tubes, old bras or laundry product packaging – wonder no longer. Win on Waste has the answer.
Win on Waste is all about recycling, raising money for charity and tackling many items that cannot be collected by kerbside recycling. We include charities local to Wimborne, Dorset as well as those further afield. This local recycling project started life back in 2014, with hard-to-recycle items being collected on behalf of local charities. From small beginnings, the network grew to 19 sessions across East Dorset which took 3,400 bags of recyclable waste out of landfill and kerbside collections between November 2019 and March 2020. Covid restrictions meant collections had to be suspended but they are up and running again now.
There are also sessions in Merely and Corfe Mullen and several across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. Check the website for items collected, locations, dates and times of the sessions.
We also have recycling directories
‘We need that’ and ‘Decluttering’ are directories of recyclable consumer items that are collected by individuals and organisations that can make money for charity by exchanging these recyclable items for funds.

Upcoming events
In March each year we focus the world’s attention on an important but often unseen climate change issue: food waste.
In 2026, Food Waste Action Week’s theme is Make Your Food Go Fuuuuuuuurther: for your pocket, for our planet.
By preventing food waste, using up leftovers, and recycling anything that can’t be eaten, we can unlock more value from the food we already have by helping it to stretch further.
We’d love you to be part of it.
Recycling is a brilliant way to help our planet fight climate change. It’s a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect the earth’s dwindling natural resources. That’s what Global Recycling Day is all about – a day for the world to come together and put the planet first.
