This will be a repeat of last year’s gentle stroll around White Sheet Plantation and Holt Heath before listening and looking for Nightjars and Woodcock at dusk. In addition you may see other specialities of the lowland heathland and mires such as Hobby, Lapwing, Curlew, Tree Pipit, Stonechat, Dartford Warbler, Linnet and Yellowhammer.
Meet: in White Sheet Plantation car park accessed from the bend in the road at (SU048036, ///lives.hovered.sideboard). NB: from Colehill take the road to Broom Hill. At the cross roads continue straight ahead and at the obvious left hand bend, turn right onto the track to the car park.
Walking: generally easy on good footpaths.
Also: please bring binoculars if you have them. In addition midge repellent and a torch are recommended.
