Planet Wimborne Green Festival

Hold the date for our 2024 festival: 12th - 19th October

For this annual Green Festival, our amazing community groups, businesses, organisations and churches join forces to put together a week of fantastic events and activities designed to encourage us all to live more sustainably.

During the Green Festival week there are a whole host of inspiring talks, plus craft sessions for all ages, the Saturday Green Fair on the Minster Green, tree-planting, a green trail to follow around Wimborne – and much more.

Skittles Night - Wimborne Community Theatre

Fundraising Skittles Night 
It's come round again - time for the Annual Wimborne Community Theatre Skittles Night.

We hope to see you there for an entertaining evening of skittles - no experience of skittles needed.  
There will be prizes and a raffle and lots of fun!
Bring your friends and spread the word.

Crisps and snacks are available at the licensed bar

Entrance is only £5 per person (pay us on the door)

JUMP with Karen Wimhurst

Clarinet, Bass Clarinet insect and amphibian song.  Composed and performed by Karen Wimhurst.

JUMP is a musical collaboration between composer Karen Wimhurst and entomologist Peter Smithers Hon.FRES and Charlie Woodrow from the Bioacoustics Department, Lincoln University, featuring insect, amphibian and clarinet music.

What is a SANG?

A SANG is a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace.  It is a recreational site, created to attract residents of new developments away from designated sites that are protected for their valuable ecology and are sensitive to recreational activities such as dog walking.

Positive Postcards for the Planet - Crafting Workshop

The climate and ecological crisis can feel overwhelming. If you’d like to spend a relaxing evening turning eco-anxiety into eco-action, then this session is for you. The Makers and Shakers is a new Planet Wimborne group and is really excited about hosting this first crafting workshop.

Light refreshments and materials will be supplied and ideas/patterns available for those who would like them. No experience needed!

Doors open at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. We will finish at 9pm.

Tickets are £5, from Eventbrite, to cover costs.
